Westwood College in Chicago - Loop campus is looking for a Graduate Employment Advisor.

The Graduate Advisor works with students to ensure they know their career goals, have the skills and tools to attain a career related job, and are working in their field of study after graduating from Westwood.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Builds a relationship with each assigned graduating student and guides those students through the second part of their Westwood education, learning about the students’ goals, challenges, skills and experience.
  • Helps students and alumni build job search skills and help ensure the student is ready to begin working.
  • Offers students access to the business community, in the form of internships, mentorships, networking, and other career related opportunities.
  • Partners with the Education and Student Services department to help students develop necessary career related skills and experience.
  • Coaches students individually and in groups on job creative search skills, resume writing, interviewing techniques, and professionalism and necessary business acumen.
  • Generates and maintains relationships with employers who offer graduate employment positions. Leverages relationships with employers to assist students with attaining career related employment and to bring appropriate speakers on campus to address: retention, developing ones’ career, and getting the most out of one’s education and to generate internship, mentorships, etc.
  • Maintains student files regularly and accurately.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelor’s degree, in any area of study, is required.
  • Two years of work experience in any industry is required, four is preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Presentation and platform skills – must be comfortable speaking and teaching to groups.
  • Strong writing and oral communication skills
  • Microsoft office and internet proficient
  • A professional appearance
  • External sales experience or interest/desire
  • Coaching, teaching, or training experience
  • The ability to build relationships and work well in teams and groups
  • Experience in education, coaching, counseling, teaching or training preferred

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides primary support and assistance to Director of Human Resources and Recruiter. Performs various human resources and clerical functions including: front desk operations, HR paperwork and compliance, facilitating site orientation, answering phones, HRIS/Payroll entry, answering employee general questions, scheduling interviews, maintaining calendars, reference checks, employee verifications, and filing. Must have excellent computer and customer service skills. Microsoft Office experience required. Previous Human Resources and/or administrative experience required. DIRECTOR, TALENT ACQUISITION

The Director, Talent Acquisition is responsible for overseeing strategic recruitment, search and selection. The Director will develop and execute against a comprehensive talent acquisition strategy to ensure the placement of highly qualified employees for all openings, as well as creating a future pipeline of talent for critical roles. The Director will lead and develop the internal search capability for RIC, building a high performing recruitment function.

The Director, Talent Acquisition consistently demonstrates support of the RIC statement of Mission and Philosophy by striving for excellence, contributing to the team efforts and showing respect and compassion for patients and their families, fellow employees, and all others with whom there is contact at or in the interest of the institute.

To qualify, a minimum of 10 years progressive HR leadership experience, specifically with area of search and talent acquisition. Healthcare (hospital) leadership experience for a minimum of five years is essential. Candidates with an education level appropriate with what is normally gained through the acquisition of a bachelor's degree in the humanities or business will be considered. Master's degree preferred. Must posses excellent analytical, financial, planning, computer and writing skills with proven expertise in recruiting systems and process improvement.

SENIOR RECRUITER

The Senior Recruiter plans, develops and implements recruitment and staffing strategies for assigned departments with special emphasis on a well qualified and diverse pool of candidates, timeliness and cost effectiveness. To qualify, a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or related field is required. Work generally requires four years of healthcare (hospital) recruitment experience, with talent sourcing expertise derived from a variety of areas. This role requires mentoring or baseline supervisory experience over junior staff members in recruitment. Demonstrated significant human resources management or recruitment experience in handling challenging human resource/recruitment issues in a diverse and dynamic environment is essential.
